Prince Charles hospital, Merthyr Tydfil chooses latest
technology for Nursecall
Wandsworth Group’s IPiN Nursecall system has been chosen for the 12 ward refit at Prince Charles hospital in Merthyr Tydfil. The system will also incorporate patient sound entertainment, with work due to take place in 2009 and 2010.
Wandsworth Groups’ contract department offered a bespoke design package and has a proven track record within the NHS, with extensive experience of installing into new build and live hospital environments.
In today's hospital environment, communication between staff and patients is critical, and a high tech, reliable nurse call system is essential. The IPiN product offers the latest IP network technology for ease of use.
Wandsworth were able to offer a very comprehensive installation package which includes full on-site installation, full design support and a site contracts manager. The ward refurbishment of the 288 bed hospital is due to be completed over the next 3 years.
Working along side Balfour Beatty Utility Solutions, Wandsworth will be acting as sub-contractor on this very prestigious project, with a dedicated contracts manager overseeing installation of equipment. Units will be supplied pre-piped and pre-wired at second fix level. Medical service columns will be pre-wired for mains cabling, nurse call, data and pre-piped for medical gases and fully tested and sealed before delivery to site. Once they are delivered to site, and only when required and ready for fitting, the medical service column can be hung on the wall and secured into position in a fraction of the time of a traditional medical service column fitting time.
